Jeff Watson

Jeff was a three year starter at A&M Consolidated High School and led his team deep into the playoffs every year. The team won the 1991 Texas 4A State Championship. Jeff attended Baylor University, leading the Bears to a Southwest Conference Championship. When Jeff completed his undergraduate work he held a number of Baylor career passing records.

Jeff followed up his successful tenure at Baylor with graduate school at MTSU. At MTSU Mr. Watson was the offensive graduate assistant with an emphasis on the offensive line. He graduated with his masters degree and all sorts of letters behind his name.

We are thrilled that Jeff is able to be on our team at Lone Star Football.

Steve Bates

Steve was also on the 1991 A&M Consolidated Texas State Championship team. Steve stood high above the action in the press box as the videographer for the team. He was able to translate this rare skill of filming while following the ball into multiple scholarship opportunities. Eventually he chose to attend the University of Louisville to work for Howard Schnellenberger as a Video Coordinator. Following a coaching change, Steve stayed at Louisville and worked for Ron Cooper. After graduating, Steve took a year off from football to attend law school, before being invited back as a graduate assistant under John L. Smith. While a graduate assistant with the Cardinals, they went to the Humanitarian Bowl, won a C-USA championship and played in the Liberty Bowl.
